Purdue IE Alumni Two-Way Mentoring Applications Open!

The Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering is please to bring back the IE Alumni Two-Way Mentoring Program for the Spring 2026 semester!

Students who are selected will receive 1:1 mentorship from a Purdue IE alumnus who has experience in an industry and/or job function that aligns with each student’s personal interests. Alumni mentors have between 5-30 years of industry experience to share with student mentees!

To make sure you understand the structure and expectations of participating in this program, please carefully read through the information below. It is important that the program is valuable to both you and the mentors by having participants who are committed to investing their time. If you determine that this program is not the right fit for you, that’s fine! We just want to make sure everyone is having the best experience possible.

Program details:

The IE Two-Way Mentoring Program is a semester-long commitment in which mentor pairs are required to meet once every two weeks in person, online, or via phone (7 total meetings). Meetings must be at least 30 minutes long, but are often longer depending on the availability of mentors and mentees.

The program officially runs from February 2nd until May 1st. 

At the beginning of each two-week period, the IE Mentorship Director will send an email suggesting a theme and some sample questions to help drive productive discussion during your meetings. The list of past themes can be found below.
